“I just wanted to say to him:
If its ok for you to rape me because I was dressed like a ‘slut/skank/ho/whore’; then is it ok for me to shoot/stab/maim/kill you because you are a male who looks threatening? Aren’t you asking for it?”

Seriously you guys…

Why can’t I figure out what to do with this? I have a working snippet, but that puts an (un-clickable) ‘a’ tag in a text document - so what am I missing?
I suspect I’d use this a lot. I wrote a bash script a while ago that does basically the same thing, but I spent more time in TextMate than in the terminal.
merlin:

Ready for some Textmate hotness? Okay, then.

  <a href="txmt://open?url=file:///Users/USERNAME/path/to/ \
  scratch-`date +%Y-%m-%d`_`date +%H-%M-%S`.txt" \
  src="scratch-`date +%Y-%m-%d`_`date +%H-%M-%S`'"> \
  New at `date +%Y-%m-%d`_`date +%H-%M-%S`</a>

Custom Bundle Snippet that creates a goofy-looking but clickable txmt:// link to “/path/to/2011-03-22_07-52-44.txt”.
Click that link anywhere on your Mac, and you open a new text file—already saved—with that name.
For the five nerds that can actually use this? You’re welcome.

Did I beat the previous record?

I honestly don’t know how it gets that high. I guess it must count all opened files, because I have opened a few full directories of files in TextMate.

Still, I’m winning!

Grumpy old man here.

Saw a guy on a fixie today wearing cycling gloves. Apparently it’s much more important to protect your delicate little hands than it is to ride a vehicle capable of stopping in a reasonable manner so as to protect your future on this earth.

I would truly love to hear one…

Remember this HILARIOUS jab from Jim DeMint back in January? He and a bunch of other conservatives were beside themselves over who could crow loudest about the freak snowstorm that was blanketing DC while Congress was trying to pass climate change legislation. Funny thing, while the Republican party was busy ignoring science, it turns out the first six months of 2010 are the warmest on record ever. I’m sure Senator DeMint will be putting his stand up routine on hold any minute now to offer an apology to Mr. Gore.
